ATLANTA – Four Laurel-Concord-Coleridge students recently attended the SkillsUSA Championship.

HASTINGS – The Laurel 14-andunder girls softball team had to do it the hard way, but they worked their way through the loser’s bracket to claim the Class D State title here Sunday.

LAUREL – The Laurel-Concord- Coleridge School board would like to be more engaged with the communities it serves.

The month of July began with an Allied offensive in the South Pacific. At the same time, the Soviets and the Germans were engaged in what was said to be the world’s largest tank battle. More than 1000 Soviet tanks engaged 1000 German tanks near the Russian city of Kursk. The result was a stunning German defeat and a major turning point in the war.

LAUREL – Building Blocks Early Childhood and Family Development Center held its groundbreaking ceremony July 16 at the facility’s 308 Lonsdale Street construction site.

Area 4H groups have been chipping in to help get the buildings and grounds at the Cedar County Fairgrounds ready for this week’s fair. The Laurel Bit and Bridle Club was in charge of the horse barn. HOMER – Laurel-Concord-Coleridge sent 18 cross country runners to the Tri State District Camp.

COLERIDGE – Laurel-Concord-Coleridge’s middle school campus in Coleridge has utilized grants to boost its STEM technology with 3-D printers, programmable robots and other tools.
