HARTINGTON – The Bow Creek Watershed Project will be hosting a workshop that will present the principles and benefits of perennial grassland and annual forage crop grazing systems from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Sept. 22, at the Hartington Golf Course, Ralph Tate, HMI Certified Educator, will lead a discussion on grazing management systems in the morning.

CROFTON – Hartington-Newcastle seemed on the cusp of winning its first football game of the 2023 campaign when it hit the road to Crofton Friday to take on the state-rated Warriors in both teams’ first meander into District action.

NORFOLK – The Cedar Catholic Lady Trojans volleyball team had a tough time against some very good competition to end the week 2-3, winning the final two matches of the busy slate.

HARTINGTON – After dropping a game for the first time this season, Cedar Catholic responded with a resounding win over Logan View/Scribner-Snyder 42-7 at the Hartington Community Complex Sept. 15 in the Trojans’ Homecoming football game.

HARTINGTON – Cedar Catholic girls’ golf coach Sheila Jueden has the pleasure of coaching a very deep and talented team this fall and that depth was on full display as Cedar Catholic hosted its own invitational Sept. 18 at the Hartington Golf Club.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State cross country’s Carson Noecker and Leah (Hansen) Hisken have each earned their second straight weekly honors of the season after being named the TicketSmarter Summit League Cross Country Peak Performers of the Week, league officials announced recently.

WAYNE – Hartington-Newcastle cross country traveled down to the Wayne Country Club to compete in the Wayne Invitational Sept. 11.

WYNOT – The Wynot Blue Devils football team continued its winning ways on Thursday night as it rolled to a 54-6 win over the Randolph Cardinals.

HARTINGTON – The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge girls’ golf team played to a third-place finish in the team standings in the Cedar Catholic Invitational Sept. 18 at the Hartington Golf Club with a total of 436, just a couple of strokes away from the runner-up trophy.

WAYNE – The Laurel-Concord- Coleridge Bears and Lady Bears finished fifth and fourth Sept. 11 in their respective divisions at the Wayne Invitational at the Wayne Country Club.

LAUREL – The Laurel-Concord- Coleridge Lady Bears volleyball team won two Lewis and Clark Conference matches last week with a three-set sweep over Tri County Northeast on Sept. 12 and a 3-2 win over Plainview in Laurel on Sept. 14.

LAUREL – Laurel-Concord-Coleridge football got back on track in a big way on the grid iron Sept. 15 when the Bears blasted Homer 68-15 at Haskell Field.
