CROFTON – Denise Stevens, 67, Crofton, died Feb. 19, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her family after a battle with cancer.

CROFTON – Arlene Kay Steffen, 69, Crofton, died Feb. 15, 2023, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha Mass of Christian Burial was Feb. 20 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, with the Rev. An Duy Phan officiating.

WYNOT – Wynot took on Wayne in the battle of the Blue Devils on Thursday night at Wynot. The game was close at halftime but W ayne would dominate the second half as they rolled to the 65-42 win.

HARTINGTON – Hartington-Newcastle dropped its final two games of the regular season to a highly regarded Wynot team on Feb. 10 61-32 and a Wausa team the Lady Wildcats had just beaten in the finals of the Clark Division Tournament.

BATTLE CREEK – The Cedar Catholic Lady Trojan basketball team finished the regularseason with a couple of wins and earned the right to host the D1-4 SubDistrict Tournament Feb. 14 and 16 at the Msgr. Werner Activity Center.
