WAYNE – In conjunction with the Wayne Chicken Show, Wayne State College will present five planetarium shows on Saturday, July 13. Admission is free and open to the public, but free-will donations are accepted.

LINCOLN – The former city clerk in Ponca now stands charged with three criminal offenses for allegedly destroying several years worth of the city’s financial records just prior to her dismissal 16 months ago.

SIDNEY – Brodie Mitchell and Alexys Hurt sat at a table inside a cozy coffee shop just off Interstate 80, sipping specialty drinks and discussing their decision to pursue a health care career.

LAUREL– For the first time in several years, the Laurel Advocate will be raising its news stand rate, as well as its annual subscription rates.

SEWARD – Concordia senior Noah Schutte, Allen, recently earned recognition for his academic prowess.

In an interview recorded on May 28, 2004, Lauren Johnson told this writer that he had met up with another Laurel soldier somewhere between Omaha Beach and the French city of St. Lo.

WAYNE – Wayne State College included 1,154 students on the dean’s list for exemplary academic achievement during the Spring 2024 semester. Students listed on the dean’s list are full-time undergraduate students who have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale for the semester. An asterisk (*) denotes a 4.0 GPA for the term.

If you haven’t been by the school lately, there is a change in the outdoor scenery.

BROOKINGS, S.D. – More than 3,300 students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance over the spring 2024 semester at South Dakota State University by being named to the dean’s list.

LINCOLN – More than 6,600 University of Nebraska-Lincoln students have been named to the Deans’ List for the spring semester of the 2023-24 academic year.

CONCORD – It may seem early to some, but the Dixon County Fair is right around the corner.

LAUREL – The Laurel-Concord- Coleridge cross country team hosted Laurel’s Ag Days Fun Run.

CONCORD – The Haskell Ag Lab Family Field Day will take place Wednesday Aug. 7.
