Everyone invited to enter Open Class exhibits at Cedar County Fair

HARTINGTON – All Cedar County residents are invited and encouraged to enter open class exhibits for the Cedar County Fair, July 18. Exhibit categories includes Horticulture, Fruits and Vegetables, Flowers, Domestic Science, Quilts, Photography, Needlework and Arts and Crafts for all ages.

The Laurel-Concord Class of 1974 gathered recently at the home of classmate Marilyn (Eckert) Abts to celebrate their 50th year reunion. A total of 29 classmates spent the afternoon reminiscing and getting caught up on each other’s lives. A poster board was made remembering the nine classmates who are no longer with us. They are Anita Hanson, Mike Madsen, Randy Leapley, Sheryl Anderson, Marina Lenzen, Shirlene (Kardell) Boeckenhauer, Kirk McCoy, John Suber and Russell Anderson. Those on the committee who help with the 50th reunion were Kim (Chace) Dunklau, Marilyn (Eckert) Abts, Janis (Wallin) Pfingsten, Jeanne (Pippitt) Kardell, Connie (Nielsen) Kathol.
