LINCOLN – A Randolph native will receive a state award for leadership in the newspaper industry.

KEARNEY – Chris and Maureen (Gubbels) Epping, Funk, welcomed a son, David James, at 2:59 p.m., March 18. He weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and measured 21 inches, and was born at Kearney Regional Hospital.

RANDOLPH – A Randolph student has been selected to attend the American Legion Cornhusker Boys State program.

RANDOLPH – The Randolph School Board approved upgrades to technology and curriculum with most of both expenses covered by federal funds.

COLERIDGE – Immanuel Lutheran Church is celebrating a significant milestone all year long.

Members of Randolph’s volunteer rescue and fire departments work on stabilizing a “victim” in a joint mock car crash drill last week at Randolph High’s football field. The mock crash included an extrication and tending to several victims.

Randolph Times Editor Trisha Benton hands a Kids Scoop newspaper to Kyndell Junck at the front door of Randolph Elementary recently as part of the Adopt-a-Door program. The program gives local businesses and organizations an opportunity to highlight community services to students. Kids Scoop is an initiative by the Nebraska Press Association. Currently, Kid Scoop News Nebraska reaches 10,000 students each month in public and private schools in Northeast and North Central Nebraska, including Randolph Elementary.

RANDOLPH – This year will complete a decade for Rob Engel as head coach for the Randolph golf team and it seems the Cardinals are always in the mix come postseason.
