HARTINGTON – 4-H members across Cedar County are gearing up for the 2024 Cedar County Fair. A total of 40 4-H members participated in 4-H Project Day held June 6 in Hartington. Youth in attendance each made four projects to exhibit at the upcoming Cedar County Fair.

COLERIDGE – The American Legion Post #114 and its Auxiliary Unit #114 held their monthly meeting June 3 at the Coleridge Community Building. The units jointly recited the Pledge of Allegiance and then they separated and held their monthly meetings.

HARTINGTON – Cedar Catholic Jr.-Sr. High School recently released the fourth quarter and second semester honor roll for the 2023-24 school year.

WYNOT – The Wynot Expos broke a four-game losing streak by taking a game from Crofton here June 16, 2-1.

HARTINGTON - The Hartington Post 4 American Legion baseball team played a couple of Ralph Bishop League games this past week and won them both to improve to 6-1 on the season.

HARTINGTON - The Hartington Post 4 American Legion Seniors ran into some quality pitching in dropping a couple of games over the past week. The two losses, both on the road, followed a win over Wisner-Pilger/Dodge-Howells here at Felber Park.

HARTINGTON – The Hartington Penguin 18U softball team continued to prepare for the upcoming Class D State Tournament with a couple of wins in regular season action over the past week.

BRANDON, S.D. – After rattling off 10 straight wins to open the 2024 baseball season, the Hartington Pony League team traveled north here for the Brandon Valley Tournament and came away with a 2-2 record.

WAYNE - The Hartington Dolphins swim team opened the 2024 summer campaign with a splash taking the team titles in West Point on June 12 and Wayne on June 15.

LINCOLN – Applications for paddlefish snagging permits will be accepted by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission from July 1-14.

LINCOLN – Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen offered one of the clearest timelines yet Monday for when he might call a special session on property tax relief this summer.

LAUREL – The City of Laurel will continue to receive support for its water and wastewater operations from the City of Wayne.

Laurel’s annual summer celebration was filled with fun for the whole family. 

LAUREL – Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is making plans to accommodate for a larger than usual preschool enrollment for 2024-25.

Jackson Hall, Coleridge, recently received his Eagle Scout badge. For his project, Hall repainted the Coleridge weight room, cleaned it from top to bottom, reorganized it and then painted the mural. Mallory Eriksen: She plans to attend Northeast Community College and pursue studies in Pre-Radiologic Technology. Heitman Memorial Scholarship.
