DALLAS, Texas – Funeral services for Andy Ross, 73, Dallas, Texas, were Aug. 16, in Dallas, with burial and military honors at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Andy was at home when he died June 27, 2023.

ST. HELENA – Daniel Pinkelman, 71, St. Helena, died Sept. 26, 2023, at the Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, S.D. Visitation was 5-7 p.m., Sept. 29, with a 7 p.m. wake and rosary service all at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Onsite Crematory, Yankton, S.D.

LAUREL – Joseph Alan Ross, 76, died Dec. 20, 2022.

WAUSA – Funeral services for Doris Greeno, 94, Wausa, will be 10:30 a.m., Sept. 30, at Thabor Lutheran Church, Wausa. Richard Bloomquist PMA will officiate, with burial in Magnet Cemetery, Magnet.

BATTLE CREEK – The Randolph Cardinals cross country team competed on Sept. 29 at the Battle Creek Invitational at Evergreen Hill Golf Course.

RANDOLPH – The Randolph Lady Cardinals volleyball team fell to 2-13 with a loss in its only match last week.

Preston Goetsch runs a combine in what is a familar scene around the area. A week of warm, dry weather helped Nebraska farmers pick up steam for corn and soybean harvests. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, 22 percent of the corn crop is in and 53 percent is rated goodto- excellent and 29 percent of soybeans are harvested with 47 percent good-toexcellent.

Pink postcard meeting draws three dozen

Hartington-Newcastle students celebrated Homecoming Week with several special events, including coronation, a pep rally and a parade.
