DES MOINES, Iowa – After 37 years with TMC and as one of very few drivers to achieve more than four million safe miles, specialized driver Les Bohlken retired at the end of 2023.

LINCOLN – Gov. Jim Pillen joined state and local leaders on Jan. 13 in providing an update on operations in the aftermath of the state’s most recent severe weather. Nebraskans, primarily in the eastern half of the state, are dealing with a combination of snowpack, blowing snow and subzero temperatures, creating a situation that Pillen described as critical. To ensure the availability of resources, the governor issued a state-of-emergency declaration.

LINCOLN – Gov. Jim Pillen issued Executive Order 24-1 on Jan. 12 to provide an emergency waiver of federal hours of service requirements for fuel truck drivers to prevent shortages.

Comments from two state senators from Omaha have pretty much diminished hopes for a “normal” session of the Nebraska Legislature this year.

Senators commenced floor debate last week on possibly amending the rules adopted by the Legislature last year.
