The Hartington 3-4 grade and 5-6 grade football teams played in their first games of the season Sunday afternoon at the Hartington Community Complex. The 3-4 grade team lost 33-6 to Homer, while the 5-6 grade team defeated Ponca 42-21. The teams compete each Sunday through the season.

HARTINGTON – The Hartington Library has several “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” award winners. Wren Becker, daughter of Eric and Katelyn Becker; Loretta and Marshall Derickson, daughter and son of Eric and Samantha Derickson; and Lucelly, daughter of Bonifacio and Heather Rodriguez Showen, all received a medal, a certificate of completion, a final prize and a free book from the library for their accomplishment.
