1962: Church leaders approve building plans

April 19, 1962

HARTINGTON — A building plan that includes the construction of a new parsonage was approved in a vote by members of the Trinity Lutheran Church congregation. The members approved a plan the building committee had been working on.

The plan includes tearing down the present parish house west of the church and building a new parsonage on that lot.

As soon as this is completed, the present parsonage will be either sold or and moved or torn down.

Work will then begin on an addition to the east side of the church. This addition is being built to increase capacity and to house a better educational unit.

In 1962, the Trinity Lutheran congregation gathered just west of the church for a ground-breaking ceremony for the new parsonage.
