75 Years Ago - June 2, 1949 RANDOLPH – Displaced persons from stricken European areas arrived in Randolph the past week and have been settled on farms in this community through the efforts of Rev. Herman J. Kaup, St. Frances pastor for the Arch-Diocese of Omaha, outside of the city of Omaha.

HARTINGTON – Donna Burbach has dished out meals made with love to Holy Trinity and Cedar Catholic students for nearly three decades.
The teachers led the countdown as the Hartington-Newcastle Elementary students (above) charged out of the doors, unable to contain their joy at noon last Wednesday, the last day of the 2023-24 school year. Holy Trinity Elementary students hugged and laughed with one another as they were also dismissed for the summer last Wednesday. They are all now looking forward to a summer full of bike riding, swimming and being with friends.
