West Nile Virus has been found in NE Nebraska

WAYNE – The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department is alerting the public that the first pool of mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile Virus has been found within the health district of Cedar, Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties for the 2023 season. West Nile Virus is present in Northeast Nebraska.

LCNRD presents unique opportunity to see annual, perennial grazing systems

HARTINGTON – The Bow Creek Watershed Project will be hosting a workshop that will present the principles and benefits of perennial grassland and annual forage crop grazing systems from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Sept. 22, at the Hartington Golf Course, Ralph Tate, HMI Certified Educator, will lead a discussion on grazing management systems in the morning.

Emergency Training

The fire siren blew at 7:05 p.m. Monday summoning local emergency crews to the scene of a mock accident just south of Hartington behind Grossenberg Implement. When the emergency crews arrived, they discovered a bus had collided with a grain truck and the bus had gone off the road and rolled on its side. Firemen had to determine how to best handle the situation, while ambulance personnel dealt with the mock victims.
