The Library’s first StoryWalk for the month of May is waiting to be read at the south entrance of Felber Park. If you like the Mother Bruce books, you will love Penelope Rex by Ryan Higgins. It’s a great story about learning pet ownership, from a dinosaur’s perspective that is. The Hartington Public Library is in its third summer of stories, and invites kids, babysitters, daycare providers, parents and grandparents to enjoy this reading adventure with a new picture book being displayed monthly.

Hello Summer
The teachers led the countdown as the Hartington-Newcastle Elementary students (above) charged out of the doors, unable to contain their joy at noon last Wednesday, the last day of the 2023-24 school year. Holy Trinity Elementary students hugged and laughed with one another as they were also dismissed for the summer last Wednesday. They are all now looking forward to a summer full of bike riding, swimming and being with friends.
