CLINTON – Dorothy C. Korver, 81, Clinton, died Oct. 22, 2023, at her home. In following Dorothy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A gathering of family and friends took Oct. 28 at the Pape Funeral Home. Dorothy was born in Laurel, Dec. 7, 1941, the daughter of John D. and Marjorie M. (Klocke) Kint. She graduated from St. Francis School, Randolph. Dorothy married Gary Korver June 21, 1974, in Atlantic, Iowa. Dorothy worked in the insurance business in Charter Oak, Iowa, and Phoenix, Ariz., for 20 years. In her retirement years, she enjoyed working at the Mississippi Belle, Clinton. She was a dedicated homemaker and avid landscaper of her yard which was envied by all. She enjoyed collecting angels and a multitude of antiques. Dorothy was a very caring, social and compassionate person, who thoroughly loved her family and friends.

Helping out

Joel (Joey) Johnson got some help to bring in the harvest from friends, family and a national farm group last week. Johnson was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor on his spine approximately four months ago. He underwent surgery and spent two months in an Omaha hospital. After spending some time at home, he and his wife, Angela, are now in Boston where Joey will receive radiation treatments for the next two months.
