Greenhouse adds retail option for local gardens

RANDOLPH - The annual summer reading program is back at the Lied Randolph Public Library this year and it's themed "Read O the Beaten Path." 

RANDOLPH - Kayla Korth has always been grateful for the local EMS squad, but as the newest member she has a newfound admiration for those she serves alongside. "Each of the members on the squad are very helpful and give advice when needed and teach as we go; I cannot thank them enough for accepting me and leading by example," Korth said. "It has been a great experience to help the people of our community or those traveling through in their most critical times of need." Korth already works in the medical field as a speech language pathologist so it wasn’t too large of a leap to EMT. A lifelong resident of Randolph, she also isn't shy about helping her community. "It is a joy to assist the people I have known my whole life and also new members to the community and be a person they can feel comfortable with," she said. Korth attended an online, accelerated EMT course through the School of EMS with hands-on skills days hosted by her employer, Providence Medical Center in Wayne. After the four-month course, Korth passed a written exam and a skills assessment. She was also required to complete 120 hours of "ride time" on the ambulance to practice skills and training with assistance from other licensed EMTs.

The Cardinal Kids Learning Center held its graduation ceremonies May 10 for the students completing both the 4-year-old preschool program and the 3-year-old preschool program. HARTINGTON – Chad David Mathiason, 49, Hartington, died May 9, 2023, at his residence under hospice care.

RANDOLPH – Mass of Christian Burial for Frances R. Lenhoff, 94, Randolph, was May 16 at St. Frances Catholic Church, Randolph, and was also live streamed on the funeral home’s website. Rev. Kevin Vogel and Frances’ nephew Rev. Jim Kunz were the celebrants. Christian Mothers Rosary was followed by visitation and a Vigil Service, all at the church.

Randolph Elementary Friends members Salle Robinson, Sarah Billerbeck, Becky Miller, and Sharel Olson mix up smoothies for teachers at Randolph Elementary as part of Teacher Appreciation Week last week. The group offered a small token of appreciation for each day during the special week.

RANDOLPH - The Randolph Woman’s Club enjoyed a tour of Pfanny’s Farm as part of its regular meeting Monday, May 8. As they transported members around the farm, owners Gene and Julie Pfanstiel spoke of the many plants and trees grown on the property and rental facilities available.

Jericho Dickes races Jackson Graham pushed by Cole Jensen during Randolph Elementary’s Field Day Friday. The annual track and field day wrapped up prior to severe weather rolling into the area. The annual field day is a highlight for students at the end of the year.
