Frieda Mae Brown

NORFOLK — Private family funeral service for Frieda Mae Brown, 91, Norfolk, will be at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Pastor Doug Shelton will be officiating the service.

Interment will be held at the Coleridge Cemetery, Coleridge.

Frieda died July 31, 2024, at the Heritage of Bel Air Nursing Home, Norfolk.

Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Frieda was born Aug. 25, 1932, on the family farm in rural Coleridge, to George and Mildred (Lofgren) Gartner. She attended grade school at Hartington Public Schools. She married Floyd “Ed” Brown Dec. 3, 1950, at the Lutheran church in Hartington. She worked in retail sales Frieda Brown

throughout her life.

She enjoyed yardwork, gardening and auction sales, and was a community functions participant. She was also a comfort keeper volunteer.

Frieda was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Norfolk. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. Survivors include her son, Wayne (Carol) Brown, Riverton, Wyo., and Lowell Brown, Coleridge, and significant other, Sharon Carlson, Hartington; three grandchildren, Beth (Jeff) Sandlian, Eric (Jackie) Brown and Elaina (Brown) Roarks; 18 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandsons, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Brown; parents, George and Mildred; brothers, Nicholas, George and Glenn; sistersin- law, Beverly Blatchford and Marie Bobenmoyer; and two greatgrandsons, Brandon and Brock.
