RANDOLPH — Funeral services for Gayle L. Sporleder, 75, Randolph, was March 17 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Randolph. Officiating the services was Dwight Brummels.
Following the funeral luncheon, burial was at Prospect View Cemetery, Pierce.
Visitation was March 16 at Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Randolph.
Gayle died March 11, 2025 at the Colonial Manor, Randolph. Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Randolph, was in charge of the arrangements.
Gayle was born Feb. 26, 1950, to Orville and Bernice (Meyer) Luebe in Norfolk. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion East Lutheran Church, rural Hoskins. She attended country school district 60 in Pierce. She then attended Pierce High School, graduating with the class of 1968. She married William Sporleder Dec.4, 1971, at Zion East Lutheran Church, rural Hoskins. They had two children, Mike andJill. They began their married life on the farm north of Hoskins,moving to farm south of Randolph in 1973. In 1986, they moved into Randolph. Gayle started working at Great Dane in 1988 and retired in 2014.
Gayle was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Randolph, where she taught Sunday school and served on many committees.Gayle loved tending to her flowers and plants, playing cards, quilting, crafting and spending time with family. One of Gayle’s favorite roles was Grandma. Gayle was proud of all her grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities.
Survivors include two children, Mike Sporleder, Randolph, and Jill and Joe Mikkelsen, Hurley, S.D.; three grandchildren, Grant Mikkelsen, and Brianna and Landon Sporleder; siblings, Kent Luebe, Pierce; Kirk Luebe, Pierce; Debra and Kip Thompson, Randolph; Jim Herian, Pierce; Julie and Kevin Krueger, Ravenna; Jane and Jim Peters, Pierce; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Bernice; husband, William; sister, Diane Herian; sister-in-law, Kathy Luebe; and father and mother- in-law, Loyd and Marvene Sporleder.
