Rev. James Keiter will be celebrant, with burial in Bloomfield City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m., at the church, with a Rosary beginning at 11 a.m.
Brockhaus Funeral Home, Bloomfield, is in charge of arrangements.
Robert died Feb. 27, 2025, at Good Samaritan Society, Bloomfield.
Robert William Bruns, son of William J. and Hilda S. (Clausen) Bruns was born in the Lena Hansen Robert Bruns Maternity Home, Bloomfield, July 28, 1944. Robert was the sixth child of William and Hilda. Robert attended Country School District 143 for three years, then was enrolled in St. Andrew’s Catholic School through the eighth grade. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1962. After high school, Robert worked at the Bloomfield Creamery/ Locker and the Nebraska State Statistical Farm Service, before returning to farm with his father. He farmed on the home place his entire life until he and Judy moved to Bloomfield in 1999.
Robert enjoyed coffee with friends, playing cards, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
Robert married Judith K. Foster Oct. 10, 1964, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Bloomfield. They were blessed with four children, Kelly, Kay, Krista, and Kirk; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Robert and Judy recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Robert was a lifetime member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, where he was an EMHC and served on the parish council. He also served on the Central Township Board, Knox County Zoning Board, and the Bloomfield Community School Board.
Robert is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Kelly (Cindy) Bruns, Bloomfield; Kay (Roger) Morrill, Creighton; Krista (Larry) Dybdal, Newcastle; and Kirk (Kristi) Bruns, Springview; grandchildren, Kali Rose, Cole (Haylee) Bruns, and Kate (fiancé Cade Groseth) Bruns; Alex Morrill, Allison (Michael) Hoffmann, Anna Morrill and Anthony Morrill; Taylor (Chris) Koenig, Ty (Abby) Dybdal, and Trisha (fiancé Colin Riley) Dybdal; and Kara (Nolan) Sybrant, Paige (Chase) Stewart and Ben Bruns; great-grandchildren, Gage, Kadence, Kyryn, Jeager, and Tynlee Rose; Caroline and Carter Koenig; Hudsyn, Hayes and Huntley Dybdal; Landri, Sutton, and Sterling Sybrant; Max and Benny Hoffmann; and Mallee Bruns; sister, Arlis Erickson; sistersin- law, Beverly (Gerald) Clausen and Susan (Max) Dvorak; brothersin- law, Roman Wortmann and Art Huber; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hilda; parents-in-law, Ray and Marceline Foster; sisters, Wilma Wortmann, Shirley (Gerald) Fink, Viola (Gaylan) Suhr, and Mary (Marlyn) Barger; and brother-in-law, Gary Erickson.
