BELLEVUE — Claudette Marie (Uhing) Wieseler, daughter of William A. and Bernadine F. (Frigge) Uhing, was born Aug. 14, 1938, in Hartington, and died Feb. 10, 2025, in Omaha, at the age of 86.

Visitation will be Feb. 16, from 2-4 p.m., with a Rosary service at 4 p.m., at Bellevue Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be Feb. 17, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bellevue.

Inurnment will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, St. Helena.

Claudette grew up in Hartington, and was a member of Saints Philip and James Catholic Parish, St. James, where she also attended grade school until eighth grade and was later married. She graduated from Wynot High School in 1956. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald B. Wieseler, Aug. 12, 1958.

Later in life, Claudette achieved one her greatest personal achievements and earned a bachelor’s deegree in social work from the University of Nebraska, Omaha, as well as a master’s degree in human relations from the University of Oklahoma.

Claudette was always very active in church, and for many years participated in her parishes of Holy Family, St. Helena, and St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bellevue. She was a member of the altar society, held a routine adoration hour, was a lector and a Eucharistic Minister. She was a deeply spiritual woman and attended Mass and said the rosary every day.

She loved playing cards and was a great lover of music and did round and square dancing for many years. She always loved the outdoors and fresh air and was an avid gardener, even in her later years.

However, her greatest joy and accomplishment was her large and extended family. She is survived by 11 children, 36 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and three sisters. Her children include, Bill (Annette) Wieseler, Elkhorn; John (Darla) Wieseler, Elkhorn; Jerry (Debbie) Wieseler, Murray; Michael (Janet) Wieseler, Tyndall, S.D.; Jeffrey (Kris) Wieseler, Waterloo; Brian (Theresa) Wieseler, Clover, S.C.; Bruce (Sarah) Wieseler, Lincoln; Patrick (Tania) Wieseler, Waseca, Minn.; Madonna (Ken) Klein, Omaha; Chad (Holly) Wieseler, Stonington, Conn.; and Shana (Jeremiah) Pompa, Orcutt, Calif.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald; infant daughter, Angela Marie; and siblings, Stella Goeken, Jeanette Whitney, Kenneth Uhing, Elaine Ingberg, William Uhing and Robert Uhing.
