Private family inurnment will be in East View Cemetery, Allen, at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home, Wakefield.

Carlene was born Nov. 11, 1942, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Irvin and Ella M. (Kovarna) Frerichs. She was one of five children. She attended school in Allen, graduating in 1961. She worked as a nurse aide in the nursing home, and later, returned to the family dairy farm where she worked for several years, caring for the calves.

Carlene was a member of the Allen United Methodist Church, Allen. She liked bird watching, listening to the radio and reading. She also liked tending to her flowers and sending cards for special occasions.

Carlene is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Frerichs, Allen; brothers, Robert (Nancy) Frerichs, Allen, and Darrel Frerichs, Wisner; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Carlene is preceded by her parents; her brother, John Frerichs; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Frerichs; two cousins, Gordon Sitzman and Dale Kovarna; and aunts and uncles.
