A Celebration of Life will be from 5-7 p.m., May 17, at the Wayne Eagle’s Club. Mike died April 15, 2024, at his home in Stuart. Arrangements are under the direction of Biglin’s Mortuary, O’Neill. Michael Alan Bebee was born Jan. 14, 1952, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Alan and Mardella (Craun) Bebee. He joined his family in Laurel, the second of four children.
Mike attended Wayne Public Schools. He worked many jobs in the Laurel and Wayne areas, including as an owner operator of Bebee Feeds, and later, as a salesman for Wayne Motors. Mike met Lorie Peterson through some mutual friends. The couple was married July 7, 1972, in Concord. To this union two daughters were born, Bree and Lacy. The couple lived in Laurel for a while before moving into Wayne. Mike retired April 12, 2018.
Mike found a love for rebuilding and working on old cars that he got at a very young age from his father. He had a lot of different cars in his younger years and he especially loved his Morris Miner and his 56 Chevy. Mike was always tinkering with something. He also enjoyed listening to music and playing the guitar. He played the bass guitar in a band. He enjoyed many nights on the golf course and was a member of the Wayne Country Club for many years. Mike loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren, attending many of their activities when he had the chance.
Mike is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lorie Bebee, Stuart; his daughters, Bree (Robert) Almgren, Stuart, and Lacy (Joseph) Ryan, Aurora, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Brayden, Brynn, Bryer, Blaise, Brant and Blake Almgren, Stuart; and Leianna and Tegan Ryan, Aurora, Ill.; sister, Belinda (Terry) Magdanz, Lincoln; brothers, Brian (Lori) Bebee, Wayne, and Tim (Leslie) Bebee, Wakefield; sister-in-law, Sherri (Brooks) Widner, Wayne; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Bebee; his mother, Mardella Bebee-Olson; step father, Harold “Tony” Olson; father and mother-in-law, Verneal and Caroline Peterson; infant grandson; and his niece, Tarrah Magdanz.
