LCC golfers are anxious to hit the course

LAUREL — The 2024 LCC girls golf team features one of the biggest rosters the team has fielded in years.

Six seniors, four juniors, three sophomores and one freshmen comprise this year’s squad.

This year’s Bear squad is expected to be led by seniors Clara Brummels, Lily Fox, Abby Lipp, and Skylar Swanson.

Returning letter winners are: Clara Brummels, Danica Gould, Holly Patefield, and Harper Bruning.

Head coach Christina Patefield said the team has a lot of potential.

“We are excited for our season. We have 11 girls returning from last year’s team,” she said “We have four players with district experience and two players returning with state experience. We have four returning seniors that will provide experience and leadership.”

Newcomers Ava Christensen, Ryleigh Specht, and Alyza Leonard are also expected to gain experience and challenge for time on the course.

This year’s season opens Friday at the West Point-Beemer Invitational.
