BELLEVUE – Paul Frederic Jansen, 91, Bellevue, a man whose life was a testament to resilience, hard work, kindness, faith and an unwavering love for family, peacefully died Dec. 4, 2023.

OMAHA – A Randolph resident’s dispute with the city about keeping her emotional support pitbull in the city limits appears to be resolved with the woman able to keep her dog but not receive any compensation.
WAYNE – Wayne State College will hold a commencement ceremony for graduate and undergraduate students at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, in Rice Auditorium. A total of 345 degrees will be conferred.

HARTINGTON - The Cedar Catholic Lady Trojans split a couple of games last week here at the Msgr. Werner Activities Center, winning a game over O’Neill 47-43 in Mid State Conference action on Dec. 8 after dropping a game to perennial Class B power South Sioux City 47-40 on Dec. 5.
WYNOT – The Wynot Blue Devils hosted the Guardian Angel Blue Jays in a battle of a pair of highly rated teams on Thursday night.
WYNOT – The Wynot Lady Blue Devils suffered their first loss of the season on Thursday night at the hands of the Guardian Angels Central Catholic Lady Blue Jays. Wynot was held to single-digit scoring in every quarter as they struggled against the physical play of the Lady Jays.
LINCOLN – The Nebraska School Activities Association released the new enrollment numbers and football classifications this week.
NORFOLK – The Hartington-Newcastle bowling team headed to Norfolk and the Boone Central Tournament and it appears that this growing program may have taken a few more steps in the right direction.

NORFOLK – A.J. Johnson and Brad and Sheila Hoesing often attend the Nebraska state one-act contest as coaches, but sometimes they hold another title during the event.

LAUREL – The curtains closed on another season of One-Act play production at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School with a third-place finish at state competition last week.
