The annual Golf Cart Wash took place Aug. 3 with proceeds being donated to Mark and Tracy Anderson, Randolph. Thirty-eight carts were washed as part of the annual event by (above) Tina Nordhues, Adison Bloomquist, Peggy Lackas, Megan Shearer, Jackie Loberg, Theresa Schnoor, Pam Thies, Brayden Shearer, Brecken Shearer and Ryan Engel. 	Belden’s Birthday Bash
Belden’s Birthday Bash
Area residents celebrated the 100th birthday of Belden’s pool Saturday and Sunday with a wide range of activities for all ages. Above, Mason Dickens takes a slide into the festivities Saturday. Richard and Patty Schulte, Belden (left) pick out rolls to eat following the community church service at the fire hall Sunday. Below, Theresa Stapleman gives a “train” ride to Lauren Miller, Clayton Gullicksen, Eli Munter and Cole Thelen Saturday. Belden’s pool is thought to be the oldest continuously operated pool in the state and the third oldest overall, opening July 23, 1923. Those attending the birthday bash enjoyed birthday cake, live music, free swimming, a car and tractor show, and other activities. The planning committee hoped to raise $100,000 for pool upkeep and repairs through free will donations and raffles during the celebration. An anonymous donor also agred to match $25,000 raised at the event. 08/09/2023 12:00 AM
