LINCOLN - The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission approved fee increases for its state park entry permits at its meeting Aug. 4.

Sheriff’s calls May 28: Caller reports a suspicious person on his property for the past five days who won’t leave. Officer speaks with man who was warned to leave and if he comes back he will be arrested.

The annual Golf Cart Wash took place Aug. 3 with proceeds being donated to Mark and Tracy Anderson, Randolph. Thirty-eight carts were washed as part of the annual event by (above) Tina Nordhues, Adison Bloomquist, Peggy Lackas, Megan Shearer, Jackie Loberg, Theresa Schnoor, Pam Thies, Brayden Shearer, Brecken Shearer and Ryan Engel. PIERCE - The following 4-Hers earned ribbons and other honors for their livestock and static entries during the Pierce County Fair last month: Ava Bach, Randolph: Clover Buds/Kids - Food and Nutrition, cookies, participation; Clover Buds/ Kids - Food and Nutrition, one decorated cupcake, participation; Clover Buds/Kids - Food and Nutrition, other, participation.

BELDEN – The town of Belden is diving into a birthday celebration 100 years in the making.

HARTINGTON – The city of Randolph is requesting Cedar County to improve a roughly one-mile section of rural road near the community.

BELDEN – A widespread power outage left people across northeast Nebraska in the dark for several hours July 26-27.

RANDOLPH – Randolph’s Legion baseball seasons have come to an end and the teams’ records don’t reflect the effort and improvement put into practice and into each game all season long.

DIXON – The 2023 Dixon County Fair was held July 12-16. The folowing are the 4-H results from area residents.

RANDOLPH – A Wausa man died in a three-vehicle crash on July 20 near Randolph.

HARTINGTON – The case of a Laurel woman accused of murder has been continued until November.

LINCOLN – The city attorney for both Laurel and Randolph, and the Cedar County Attorney are among seven applicants for the county court judge vacancy based in Hartington.
