Tracksters stand out in the field

HARTINGTON – Randolph track and field athletes competed at the Hartington Cedar Catholic Trojan Invite last week with several hitting their strides and throwing the distance.

The Cardinals put on some standout performances in the field events.

Junior Mabel Ngebeh placed second in the girls discus, throwing for 97 feet, 10 inches while fellow junior Stewart Umberger placed fifth in the boys shot put with a throw of 41 feet,5 inches.

Two Randolph athletes also competed well in jumping events - Junior Luke Harder placed third with a high jump of 6 feet while Senior Emilee Olson triple jumped her way to third place with 29 feet, 2 inches.

Boys 100-meter run: Milo Rayford, 14th place, 13.11; Johnathan Leija, 23rd place, 14.57.

Girls 100-meter run: Abbey Backer, eighth place, 14.03; Emilee Olson, 17th place, 15.17; Gracie Wortman, 20th place, 16.08; Bria Reimers, 21st place, 16.15; Delayne Thelen, 24th place, 17.69.

Boys 200-meter run: Brecken Shearer, 20th place, 28.14; Kamdin Worlein, 21st place, 28.90.

Girls 200-meter run: Abbey Backer, seventh place, 29.68; Lilly Kuchta, 11th place, 31.10; Braylee Kelly, 18th place, 33.99; Bria Reimers, 19th place, 34.21; Ella Graf, 21st place, 34.64.

Boys 400-meter run: Milo Rayford, 10th place, 59.78; Ty Sievers, 13th place, 1:02.93.

Girls 400-meter run: Emily Gilliland, sixth place, 1:08.10; Brooke Meier, 13th place, 1:15.17.

Girls 800-meter run: Emily Gilliland, seventh place, 2:44.09.

Girls 100-meter hurdles: Brooke Meier, seventh place, 25.48.

Boys 300-meter hurdles: Jaylen Junck, 11th place, 50.98.

Girls 300-meter hurdles: Braylee Kelly, eighth place, 1:02.06; Ella Graf, ninth place, 1:05.58.

Boys 4x100 relay: Gage Jensen, Brecken Shearer, Jaylen Junck, Milo Rayford, fifth place, 50.72.

Girls 4x100 relay: Lilly Kuchta, Emilee Olson, Mabel Ngebeh, Abbey Backer, third place, 57.69.

Boys 4x400 relay: Luke Harder, Kamdin Worlein, Ty Sievers, Milo Rayford, seventh place, 4:10.87.
