DES MOINES — Easton Hochstein hit the wrestling mats over the weekend to pick up yet another impressive honor.
The 150-pound Cedar Catholic sophomore put together a 7-1 record to help the Nebraska Cowabungas All Star wrestling team finish third at the 2025 AAU Twin Rivers National Dual meet.
Hochstein earned All American Honors for his efforts. He qualified for the elite team by winning the Nebraska AAU State tournament in March. That tournament was held in Kearney.
The team was coached by Winside native Kalin Koch, who now coaches at Twin Rivers High School in Genoa and Fremont’s Jacob Johnson. The team competed against 18 other teams from across the country at the Du als Tournament.
Next up is the Freestyle/greco state tournament held the first weekend in May in the Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln. This will hopefully qualify him for the Fargo Freestyle/Greco tournament this summer — one of the best freestyle/greco tournaments held nationwide.
Hochstein will also compete later this summer in the AAU Disney Duals held in Florida.
