Letter To The Editor
The time is drawing nearer to cast a vote as you consider the school bond. Here are some things to consider.
This question often arises: How do we build our community? It’s not one of those questions that has just one answer. The list is long and not always easy. It takes a lot of work, patience, volunteerism, money, ideas, pride, determination, insight, chance, encouragement and a positive attitude.
Supporting what we have and being open minded for what we could use and support are vital. Our school is a major part of our community in so many ways.
How many of you still consider the high school gym as our “new gym,” although it was built over 30 years ago? I hear it often and use the term frequently myself. Time passes and things need to be updated, repaired, and replaced in our buildings that are anywhere from 30 to 60 years old.
Our administration and school board, along with passionate community members, have been working diligently to come up with a plan to address so many issues, none of which are wasteful. Repairs, updates, and improvements cost money and do not go away. It takes a village to raise a child and it takes that same village to support the bond.
