BATTLE CREEK – Randolph track and field athletes competed at the Battle Creek Invitational last week against 12 other schools, breaking personal records and faring well in the large meet.
Freshman Emily Gilliland had standout performances in the 400-meter and 800-meter runs, placing sixth and fifth respectively, while Junior Mabel Ngebeh earned fifth place in discus with a throw of 94-1. Luke Harder, another junior athlete, jumped to seventh in the high jump with 5-10.
Randolph’s relay teams also streaked around the track with good finishes including both boys and girls 4x400 relays, both earning seventh place; and the girls 4x100 relay earning eighth place.
