Two Lady Bears earn All-State basketball accolades

OMAHA — A couple of sophomores earned All State honors from the Omaha World Herald.

Rena Rasmussen, who averaged a doubledouble on the hardwood this past winter as a sophomore, was named Second Team All State.

Rasmussen averaged just under 20 points per game in her second varsity season and averaged right at 10 rebounds per night.

She shot over 45% from the field, 46% from beyond the 3-point line and scored 465 points on the season.

She also averaged just under a couple of steals per game and canned just under 70% of her free throw attempts during the season.

Rasmussen also scored 400 points as a freshman and is sitting just 135 points from 1,000 on her career at the mid-point of her time at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge.

Teammate and classmate, Kaida Eriksen was tabbed as a member of the All State Honorable Mention team.

Eriksen averaged just over 13 points per game, 4.4 rebounds and just under three assists.

Eriksen was a true scoring threat during her sophomore campaign and along with Rasmussen, Carlie Kvols and others, will be instrumental in a bright future for the Lady Bears.
