Cedar Catholic wins home golf meet

HARTINGTON - Cedar Catholic and Hartington-Newcastle took advantage of some home cooking April 8.

The Trojans won a 9-hole event at the Hartington Golf Club after firing a 168.

Ponca was second with a 173 with the Wildcats third at 191.

The Ponca JV’s ended up fourth with a 204 while Bloomfield was a shot behind at 205.

The Trojan junior varsity carded a 234.

Kayne Gratzfeld of Hartington- Newcastle used a school-record round of 35 to card the low round of the day.

The Trojans had four scores in succession beginning with fourth place and ending in seventh to account for the winning total.

Memphis Ulrich, Mav Heine and Toby Heine each shot 41 and Landyn Kaiser fired a 45 while teammate Langston Christensen was six shots back at 51.

The Wildcats had Barret Bruning at 10th with a 49, Carter Kelly next at 52, Austin Sudbeck at 55 and Grady Lammers shot a 74.

The Trojans and the Wildcats are both scheduled to compete in the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Invitational April 17 at Cedarview Golf Course.
