Wynot track competes in Hartington

HARTINGTON — The Wynot track teams journeyed over to Hartington April 8 for the Hartington-Newcastle Invitational track meet.

The Blue Devils managed 15 team points while the Lady Blue Devils posted 11.

Cedar Catholic won the boys’ section of the meet with 150 points, Hartigton- Newcastle was second with 95. Pender was the girls champion with 144 points while Wisner-Pilger came in second with 97.

The Blue Devils earned their points from Lane Heimes, Braylon Hans, Kotner Koch and a couple of relays.

Heimes tied for first in the high jump but wound up second based on misses prior to clearing the bar at 6-feet.

Kotner Koch was fifth in the triple jump with a best of 39-07.5 and Hans was sixth in the long jump.

The Wynot 400-meter relay team of Heimes, Kotner Koch, Kreyton Koch and Braylon Hans circled the track once in 49.32 seconds for fifth place and the 3,200-meter squad of Jace Lange, Kreyton Koch, Bentley Guenther and Trey Gowery made eight laps in 11:22.73 which was also good enough for fifth.

The Lady Blue Devils were led by Tiara Sudbeck. Sudbeck placed third in the long jump and fifth in the 100-meters. Eliza Lange added a fifth-place showing in the high jump The Wynot 400-meter relay team of Lange, Addison Sharpe, Aven Hansen and Sudbeck got the baton around the track in 59.18 which was good enough for fifth.
