RANDOLPH - Twelve Cardinal hopefuls are set to compete for Randolph in the 2025 boys golf season for Coach Cory Simpson.
Three Cards return with varsity experience. Senior Shaw Backer, junior Logan Lienemann and sophomore Ryan Engel all competed for the Cardinal varsity last spring .
Looking to fill out this year’s varsity and junior varsity will be senior, Dayton Winkelbauer; junior Landon Sporleder; sophomore Alexis Wortman; and six freshmen, Eli Bermel, Bentley Bonczynski, Tate Brodersen, Talyn Meyer, Josh Miller and Bentley Reimers.
“We have the three guys with some experience and a solid twelve willing to learn,” Simpson said.
The Redbirds will open the season April 12 at the Plainview Invite then host a triangular, April 15.
They will head east for the LCC Invitational on April 17 then hit the Osmond Invite on April 26.
Another home triangular is scheduled for April 28 and Randolph will finish April at the Hartington Invitational on the 29th.
May will open with the Pierce Invitational on May 3, the Lewis & Clark Conference Meet on May 5 in Homer and the Stanton Invite on May 9.
The Cardinals will host their own invitational on May 12 and finish the regular season slate at the Ponca Invitational on May 14.
Districts are set for May 19 with the Class D Nebraska Golf Championships set for May 28-29 at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus.
