LAUREL- A Master Barbers’ meeting was held in Laurel at the W. H. Lukes shop with barbers from across the area, including Coleridge, Wayne, Hartington, Belden and Laurel attending.

LAUREL- Eli Johnson who recently moved to this city from the farm, has started work on the building of a new residence property on the lot just east of the home he bought on coming to town.

LAUREL- Tree planting bee is planned at Lo-Val Lake on Arbor Day. Folks having trees and bushes or flowers at their home that they wish to donate are to have them at the lake on Arbor Day.

LAUREL- Girls of the ninth grade home economics class entertained their mothers and friends at a three course dinner Monday evening.
Miss Reba Day was in charge of the decorating. The entire cost of the dinner was $3.12 with the girls doing the work.

COLERIDGE— 84 bushels of government sealed corn were stolen from the Donald Holcomb farm, west of Coleridge.

LAUREL- Milton Johnson, son of Mrs. Roy Christensen, north of Laurel, was selected to represent Laurel in the third annual Boys’ State in Lincoln. Laurel’s representative last year was Warren Stage.

LAUREL- Mrs. M.T. Sullivan, Miss Harriet Sullivan, Mrs. Ralph Galley and Mrs. Wayne Jewell co-hostessed a bowling party in the Youngberg alleys Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Floyd Maxon won the high score; Mrs. F.J. Embick the consolation prize and Mrs. Chris Dahl won the strike prize.
