HARTINGTON — Hartington High School seniors will present, “The Haunted High School,” a threeact comedy, at the City Auditorium Friday night.
The play is under the direction of Mrs. Frances Specht. Tickets are 75 cents for adults and 25 cents for students.

HARTINGTON — In the only contest offered in City elections Tuesday, Gerald Miller defeated Joe Schulte in the race for the Councilman’s position in the First Ward. Miller was elected to the post by a 28-vote margin, receiving 84 votes to 56 for Schulte. In the Second Ward, John Rahn ran unoppossed for the Councilman’s position and was re-elected. However, Rahn received some opposition from Leo Kathol, who received 13 write-in votes. Rahn picked up a total of 65 votes. For two school board positions, incumbents Ted Gildersleeve and Gerald Pedersen ran unoppossed and were re-elected. Gildersleeve received 111 First Ward votes and 67 in the Second Ward for a total of 178. Pedersen received 118 in the First Ward and 71 in the Second Ward.

HARTINGTON — Jim C. Adkisson, Supt. of Hartington Public Schools, was honored at the State FFA Banquet in Lincoln on Friday, April 4, as one of four people in the State of Nebraska worthy of the 1975 Honorary State Farmer degree.
This degree is the highest given on the state level and for people outside the FFA for their support of that organization.
Mr. Adkisson has always been an active supporter of the FFA. He has been Supt. at Hyannis, Spencer, and Hartington where in each of these three towns, he has started a Vo. Ag. Dept. and FFA Chapter. In Hartington, he initiated the two-man Ag. Dept. now in operation.

HARTINGTON — The Cedar County assessor’s office is preparing to update the real estate appraisals under Nebraska law. The Nebraska Department of Revenue, property tax division, has issued uniform construction cost manual and uniform land valuation manuals to be used by all counties.
