COLERIDGE — Six Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Middle School students recently won the One School, One Book trivia contest.
This year students were given the challenge of reading the book, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. For winning, each student received a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card.
The “One School, One Book” program is a literacy initiative where an entire school community reads the same book together. Each student and their family receive a copy of the selected book, and reading is done at home as a shared activity.
At school, teachers and students participate in discussions, activities, and events related to the book, creating a sense of unity and excitement around reading.
The goal is to build a culture of reading within the school while encouraging family involvement in literacy. It’s about creating shared experiences and fostering a love for books that extends beyond the classroom.
