Woman’s Club meeting topic takes flight

RANDOLPH –The Randolph Woman’s Club met Monday, March 10, at the Lied Public Library.

Janice Wobbenhorst, Belden, was the guest speaker. Janice is a dedicated birder who has previously worked for the National Park Service.

She “took the group along on a trip” from her three most recent bird watching adventures in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas; Duluth, Minn.; and Newfoundland, Canada.

One of the main topics of the monthly meeting was the return of the rummage sale April 4-5 at the city auditorium. All proceeds from the sale go to the Lied Randolph Public Library. Donations will be received April 1-3. All items need to be clean, and also not in need of repair.

St. Patrick’s Day-themed snacks and lunch were served by Jenny Gubbels and Diana McGill.

The April meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 14, at the Colonial Manor Assisted Living dining area. Club members will be reviewing the book, “A Girl Named Zippy” by Haven Kimmel, a book about the early life of a small-town, poor girl from Mooreland, Indiana - population 300. Guests are invited to attend any meeting, and new members are always welcome.
