HARTINGTON — A wild goose has made her home at the Edgar Bruening farm near Hartington. Bruening first discovered the goose in the garage one day and it has stayed at his farm for the past couple of months. “She was kind of shy and wild and wouldn’t eat corn at first,” said Bruening. “She picks at greens all the time, which is a sign of the wild.” Bruening said he asked neighbors and friends if they were missing a goose, but no one claimed the bird he said some avid hunters told him the goose could be a white Canadian or snow goose. The goose laid an egg after being at the farm three weeks and has laid several eggs since he said. The bird has been laying the eggs in a flower bed and covering them with dried leaves.
