WAYNE — The Hartington-Newcastle 5th and 6th Grade Band earned a Superior rating at the recent Wayne State College Middle School Music Contest.
HNS band members participating in the event were: Flute - Samantha Olsen; Clarinet - Brooklyn Lenhoff, Ella Crosley, Danika Kleinshmit, Heidi Lewon, Clara Winkelbauer, Liliana Rodriguez Showen; Alto Saxophone- Max Wiedenfeld, Elliot Kneifl, Ella Schulte, Braxton Christensen, Makenna Benson; French Horn - Andrew Huesers, Paizliegh Eickhoff; Trumpets-Maggie Lippert, Malyla Zach, Makenzie Dailey, Maddie Fuller; Bari Sax - Tate Dickens; Tuba-Owen Lange, Paxton Peterson; Trombones- Sarah Clark, Carter Reyes, Rylen Haug, Maverick Tanderup, Easton Hoeppner; Percussion- Max Climer, Drake Hergott, Eddie Stevens.
The HNS sixth grade band also performed and earned an Excellent Rating.
Members of the sixth grade band are: Sarah Clark, Max Climer, Ella Crosley, Makenzie Dailey, Tate Dickens, Rylen Haug, Drake Hergott, Danika Kleinschmit, Elliot Kneifl, Owen Lange, Brooklyn Lenhoff, Maggie Lippert, Carter Reyes, Ella Schulte, Maverick Tanderup, Max Wiedenfeld, Malyla Zach.
The seventh and eighth grade band also performed and earned an Excellent Rating.
Members of the 7-8 band are: Celia Gall, Nora Lange, Harper Folkers, Randall Huesers, Owen Hart, Ashlynn Dailey, Caleb Heimes, Brody Dickes, Nathan Heimes, Rex Lippert, Camryn Bruning, Azel Sudbeck, Dylan Heikes, Merrick Folkers, Kate Wiedenfeld, Jacob Hagen. Haleigh Lammers, Logan Kneifl, Lauren Uldrich, Emma Hoeppner, Ella Hoeppner. Students earning special recognition for soloing during the performance were: Harper Folkers- Saxophone, Nathan Heimes- Trombone, Dylan Heikes-Trombone, Lauren Uldrich- Trumpet, Randall Huesers- Tenor Sax, Camryn Bruning- Trombone, Ashlynn Daily- Trombone.
