Read Across America Week
Jackie Loberg|Randolph Times

Randolph Elementary students participated in a variety of activities last week for Read Across America Week, a nationwide celebration of reading that takes place annually on March 2. The National Education Association created the program to encourage children to read and celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Above, fourth-grader Lauren Miller “spars” with Author Peter Talley, Hartington, during a colloborative storytelling activity. Below left, Randolph alumna Ashley Dierks “shakes” with her Husky dog named Aspen. Dierks wrote the children’s book “Aspen’s Wild Adventure: Who Took My Bone?” Below right, Audrey Schmit is enjoying the snacks more than her Bingo game during Book Bingo hosted by the Randolph Elementary Friends. Along with special activities, students dressed in Dr. Seuss-related themes.
