RANDOLPH – It’s back on.
The traditional spring rummage sale benefitting the Lied Randolph Public Library will take place as usual this year, set for Friday, April 4, through Saturday, April 5.
In January, it was announced the fundraiser would be canceled due to the inability for the Norfolk Salvation Army to pick up any remaining items once the sale is over.
However, Goodwill of Grand Island, was secured to collect any unsold items from this year’s sale, allowing the rummage - and the library’s largest fundraiser - to go on as planned.
Hosted by the Friends of the Library, the rummage sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, April 4, and 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 5, at the city auditorium.
Donations for the sale will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, through Thursday, April 3, at the auditorium.
“While we deeply appreciate the generosity of our community, we kindly ask that all donated items be clean and in good working condition,” said Library Director Peggy Leiting.
She estimates about $60,000 has been raised in the past to support children’s programming.
With the size of the rummage sale, the Friends of the Library and other volunteers put in many hours to make it a success each year. Interested in helping? Call the library.
“This event is a true testament to our community’s giving spirit, and we look forward to another successful year,” Leiting said.
