PIERCE – The Pierce County Republican Party held its monthly meeting at the Pierce American Legion March 6.
A Zoom meeting was also held Monday with District 3 representative, Chris Vail along with the Nebraska GOP Political Director Joe Hagerty hosting.
The State Central Committee will meet in Kearney on Saturday, March 22. State Chairman Eric Underwood will not be running for chair. The State Central Committee will vote on his replacement and will also vote on various amendments, resolutions and rules to be adopted by the state party. Any registered Nebraska Republican can attend to watch the proceedings but only delegates will be able to vote.
The Nebraska Republican Party relies heavily on grassroots funding. The state has set a fundraising goal, with a challenge to each county party.
Pierce County Chairman Bradley Lewon organized a subcommittee that met Feb. 27 to discuss fundraising. From this meeting a “Flamingo Fundraiser” was organized. The group hopes to expand this fundraiser to other communities in the county in future years, if more manpower becomes available.
