WYNOT--Hans Anderson, Carroll Arndt, and Norbert Kirschmeier were injured in a car accident. They were returning from the Class E basketball tournament at Brunswick.

HARTINGTON--Named to the Cedar County News Class C District Tournament First Team from Hartington were Larry Folkers and Paul Robinson.

Jim Gildersleeve was named to the second team.

HARTINGTON Movies at the Lyric Theatre are “Broken Lane” starring Spencer Tracy and Robert Wagner, “Green Fire” starring Steward Granger and Grace Kelly, and “The Black Shield of Falworth” starring Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh.

ST. HELENA-Richard Becker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Becker, received his discharge papers from the U.S. Navy and arrived home Friday of last week.

HARTINGTON--Hartington High will play Clarkson in the second game in the Class C State Basketball tournament.

Hartington boasts a 22-game winning streak this season.

The Wildcats are Cedar County and Northeast Nebraska Champions.

HARTINGTON--Four Hartington business firms are announcing a “Best-Dressed Family” photo contest with $40 in merchandise certificates given to the five top entries.

Participating merchants are The Art Center Studio, Globe Clothing, J.M. McDonald, and Nu Tyme Shop.

HARTINGTON--Jim Hesse, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Hesse, left Saturday for Tyler, Texas, to join the Tyler Tigers ball club as a pitcher.

They will go to the Mexican border for spring practice.

OMAHA — The Hartington High School Wildcats basketball team was ranked in third place among Class C teams by the Omaha World Herald.

The Wildcats were tripped up by Clarkson 58-56 in the second and sudden death overtime during the state meet. Clarkson went on to win the Class C title.
