Several Hartington area swimmers not only compete for the Dolphins during the summer season, but also compete for the Vermillion Area Swim Team during the winter season.
They travel to Vermillion from September to March for swimming practices.
Several local athletes qualified for and competed in state swimming meets in South Dakota.
The 12-and-under State meet took place in Mitchell, S.D. Feb. 20-23.
Piper Dendinger and Hadley Dendinger both competed in that meet.
The 13-and-over State meet took place in Sioux Falls, S.D. Feb. 27-March 2.
Kyson Lammers and Emily Climer both competed in that meet.

Piper Dendiger competed in six events. Her best race was a fourth place finish in the 50-meter backstroke.
