COLERIDGE-A Coleridge lady, Mrs. Jessie Pauline Hunter, has been nominated for “Nebraska Mother of the Year, 1960.”
She is being sponsored by three organizations, the American Legion Auxiliary, Arts and Crafts Club and the Women’s Study Club.
Widowed in 1941 by the death of her husband, Loran D. Hunter, Mrs. Hunter was with seven children, the youngest only 3 years old.

HARTINGTON — Charter members of the Catholic Daughters Court 457 of Hartington were special guests at a potluck dinner Tuesday in observance of the organization’s 45th anniversary.
Charter members present for the event were: Laura Bruening, Irene Hirschman, Amelia Walz, Frances Walz, Anna Lubely, Bess Walz, Marie Konz and Edna McFadden.
Also at the event were members who joined the first year. They were: Anna Schulte, Julia Walz, Kathryn Koenig, and Margaret Anna Conley.

HARTINGTON — The “Name the Senior Citizen’s Home,” Contest officially opened today.
The person submitting the winning name for Cedar County’s new senior citizens’ home will receive a $10 cash prize.
You better hurry, though. The deadline for submitting entries is Saturday evening, Feb. 20. All you have to do is fill out the entry blank inside the Cedar County News and bring it in.
Entries will be judged by the Board of Directors of the Hartington Development Corporation.

HARTINGTON — Two Cedar County residents won honors in the to quality hog contest just concluded at the Sioux City stockyards.
The two were Victor Heimes of Wynot and Ted Gunnarson Jr. of Laurel.
They were among 10 Neb. hog producers who won daily and weekly awards during the 12-week competition at the market.
