Research team launches webpage amid changing federal policies

LINCOLN — he University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Office of Research and Innovation has launched a dedicated webpage to provide timely updates and resources related to shifting federal research policies.

The Federal Research Updates 2025 page aims to keep researchers informed about potential changes to sponsored programs and federal grants based on executive orders and legislation under the new administration.

The page will be updated regularly as new information becomes available, ensuring researchers have access to the latest resources and instructions.

“This is a dynamic and evolving situation, and we encourage you to remain aware of additional changes that may affect your research activities,” said Jennifer Nelson, interim vice chancellor for research and innovation. “We will continue to be in touch with the national research community as updates emerge.”

Researchers are advised to continue adhering to previously communicated deadlines and requirements for active sponsored projects and pending proposals.

If a principal investigator receives a “stop-work order” or similar directive, they are asked to immediately forward the notice to [email protected] for further guidance.

Those needing additional support, or with more questions or concerns, are asked to reach out to the Office of Sponsored Programs or the Office of Research and Innovation.
