School calendars allow for joint Homecoming celebrations again

HARTINGTON — School administrators at Hartington-Newcastle and Cedar Catholic high schools have arranged their calendars so they can once again have a shared date for Homecoming.

Last year the two schools both had Homecoming on Sept. 11. They held a joint downtown parade together and then held a football double-header at the Hartington Community Complex.

This year the two schools have both chosen Sept. 19 for their Homecoming celebrations. Hartington-Newcastle will play the early game this year against Niobrara-Verdigre, while Cedar Catholic hosts Tekamah-Herman in the nightcap.
