LYONS —Farmers interested in finding out if reduced tillage or no-till can benefit their operation are invited to a free online event hosted by the Center for Rural Affairs.
This virtual event will help farmers determine if these practices are right for their climate and soil type, as well as learn about reduced tillage options.
The first in a series of five informational webinars, “Reduced Tillage and No-Till, can it work on your farm?” is set for Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 10 to 11 a.m.
“Incorporating conservation practices into your farming operation can be challenging,” said Andrew Tonnies, policy associate with the Center. “Talking to someone who has been through it can be a big help. The panelists in this webinar all believe the future of agriculture in Nebraska depends on neighbors helping each other be profitable while protecting the natural resources we all depend on.”
Center for Rural Affairs’ Conservation Mentorship Network members Mark McConnell of Paxton, Tracy Zink of Indianola, and Paul Poppe of Scribner will share their experiences with these practices, as well as take part in a panel discussion and answer questions.
Registration is required by Tuesday, Feb. 25. Register at cfra.org/reduced- till-webinar.
