WAYNE — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils used a tight full-court press and a fast break offense to earn thirdplace in the Lewis and Clark Tournament by a lopsided 47-17 margin over Wausa.
Wynot got a balanced attack led by 12 points from Kenna Oligmueller and backed up by 11 points from Addison Sharpe.
Wausa was led by Taylor Dawson with nine points and four points from Kennedy Gillian.
The Lady Vikings had all kinds of trouble breaking Wynot’s full court press in the first quarter. Addison Sharpe connected for five points and Kenna Oligmueller worked the offensive glass for four points as the gals in blue opened the game on a 13-2 run.
The second quarter scoring slowed. Haley Wieseler had seven of Wynot’s nine points in the period. Wausa got a 3-pointer from Dawson and a regular basket from Kennedy Gillian as they fell further behind, trailing 22-7 at halftime.
Wynot’s defense continued to control the tempo of the game in the third period. The Lady Vikings were held scoreless from the field and managed to score only four free throws. Meanwhile Wynot got four more points from Oligmueller and another trey by Addison Sharpe,as they went on a 13-4 run to pull away to a 35-11 lead going in the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, Wausa got three more points from Taylor Dawson and a basket from Olivia Barta. Wynot kept rolling, led by four points from Kenna Oligmueller and a third trey by Addison Sharpe. Eliza Lange and Taylor Pinkelman both had offensive put-backs as Wynot earned third place.

HOMER — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils traveled to Homer Thursday to battle the Bloomfield Lady Bees in second round action of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament.
This game was a tale of two halves as the Blue Devils built a nine-point lead at the half but could not find the basket in the second half and got beat 35-32. The Lady Blue Devils were held to a single field goal and some free throws in the entire second half and it cost them the game.
Madyson Mlady led the Queen Bees to victory with her 19 points to take top scoring honors. Kenna Oligmueller was the only player in double figures for Wynot with her 12 points. Kiera Heimes hit a pair of 3-pointers for the Lady Devils as well.
Madyson Mlady scored four points for the Queen Bees in the opening quarter. Wynot countered with a pair of 3-pointers each by Kenna Oligmueller and Kiera Heimes to take a 14-8 lead after one period of play.
Madyson Mlady hit four more points in the second frame and Kora Poppe drained a trey. Wynot got five points from Haley Wieseler, four from Kenna Oligmueller and a trey by Addison Sharpe to take a 26-17 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
Wynot went ice cold in the third quarter as the Bees held them without a basket from the field and only four freethrows. The Queen Bees got five points from Mlady and a trey from Aleah James to cut Wynot’s lead to 30-25 to close the third frame.
Wynot’s offensive woes continued in the fourth quarter as the only score they could muster was a put-back by Kenna Oligmueller late in the game.
Bloomfield squeezed by the Devil, led by five more points from Madyson Mlady and a Haley Eisenhauer basket.
With the Devils down by three points, a long-range three came up short and Bloomfield escaped with the 35-32 win.

BLOOMFIELD — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils took on the Osmond Lady Tigers at Bloomfield in their first round game of the Lewis and Clark Tournament Monday night.
Wynot would start slowly but once they got rolling they would advance with a 48-21 win.
Kenna Oligmueller continues to lead the Lady Blue Devils as she took scoring honors for the game with her 17-point effort.
Eliza Lange worked the offense boards for her 11 points and Haley Wieseler hit a trio of 3-pointers to notch double figures, as well, with her 10 points.
The Osmond Tigers were led by Lorriane Moes and Sophia Gansebom with eight points each.
Wynot started out cold as six Eliza Lange points was all the offense they could generate in the first quarter.
The Wynot “D” was stout as they held the Lady Tigers to some free throws to earn early 6-4 advantage.
The Lady Blue Devils picked up the pace offensively as they went on a 13-8 run in the second quarter.
Kenna Oligmueller had four points in the paint and Haley Wieseler and Kiera Heimes hit for three points for Wynot. Sophia Gansebom hit a pair of treys and scored all eight of Osmond’s points.
In the third quarter, Wynot started to pull away. Kenna Oligmueller led the charge with seven more points and Haley Wieseler added a trey and a free throw to her totals. Korrine Moes had all six of Osmond’s points, but Wynot had built a 34-18 advantage going into the final quarter. Sophia Gansebom scored all six of Osmond points in the third frame.
Wynot would pull away in the final quarter with a big 14-3 run.
Kenna Oligmueller led the charge with six more points and Sophia Giesen and Haley Wieseler each hit a 3-pointer, as Wynot advanced to play Bloomfield in the next round.
